Monaco Wip by Robbbert

- Added proper sequence of game start, game playing, extended time, game over
- Added siren sound when rescue truck appears
- Added Extend sound when the extended time starts
- Added Slip sound when you run over an oil puddle
- Once you start moving, the car will never completely stop (as per driver notes)
- The high score is saved, if you get a new high score, the fanfare music will play at the end of the game
Right now I’m working on getting the gears to work properly, 1st gear is supposed to give more acceleration than 2nd gear at slow speeds, currently 2nd gear is faster than 1st gear at any speed.

Edit some additional updates:

 Did these fixes:

1. Add siren sound for ambulance
2. Add slip sound for puddle
3. Save and display high score
4. Play fanfare sound if high score exceeded
5. Fix the gears so that each has its own max speed and acceleration rates
6. Keep track of extra lives (er, cars).
7. In extended play, you lose a life. When they are all gone, the game ends
8. When game ends, all sounds are turned off, except Crash sound is allowed to finish, and fanfare can play.
9. When you crash, you nearly stop, instead of continuing at full speed.
10. Once you start moving, you cannot completely stop.
11. Sound volume adjustment confined to the machine driver.
12. Volume adjusted so the sound is no longer grossly overdriven.
13. Added the overlay file (it was always compiled but never used), and activated the orange LEDs

Some New WIP from Robbbert for upcoming .114 release

Firstly, I’ve fixed almost all the stuff that wasn’t marked as NOT_WORKING.

The things not fixed yet, are cps1 (almost all games are broken, mostly bad graphics),
and the hires pacman hacks, they all crash instantly at start.

MAME does not permit you to have hidden parent games any more. While I’d rather
not have MAME games in the build, I have no choice sometimes. Adding the parent
games and bioses fixed neogeo, playchoice, rastan and pcktgal games.

Tehkanwc and clones did not work because the default input codes were incorrect.
For some reason the source code was different from MAME.

Some games hadn’t been updated for a while because they were missing PROMS. Adding
them fixed the tempest clones, astrob2h and many others. Asteroi6 needed the proms,
and the roms loaded into different regions before it would work. Spacwarp needed
proms but it still doesn’t work, so it’s marked as NOT_WORKING.

Bubbleb needed to use the DRIVER_INIT, like all the other taito_f3 games.

Some hacks were developed in the days when unassigned memory was considered RAM,
since it now read-only, not surprisingly these games died. Adding some RAM fixed
aa, bace, drace, mrmrspacman, mineswp and mspachi.

Bbugtest was being loaded to the wrong part of memory. It now at least responds to
keypresses although the text is missing - if indeed it ever had any.

Decodemo just shows a cyan screen - there are no errors so there’s not much else
I can do with it.

Jrfast and fastjr (pacmanjr hacks) were using some odd code that didn’t work. This
has been fixed. Mrmrspac has been made a clone of mspacman.

Pacman25 has been added. The colours should change as you progress through the
levels, but at this time I don’t know how to implement it.

Neogeo needs some work, at this stage anything that is simply a decrypted version
will be removed.

Because ladybugh uses the same roms as lazybug, removed ladybugh until such
time as the real missing 4th rom can be located.
Some hacks (such as bace) use blank roms to fill in the spaces. These are
now set to be optional (game will run without them).

Set neogeo bioses to be optional, except for Euro 2 bios.

Added former MAME discards: galaga84, galagads, galagab2, nebulbee.

edit: Fixed the hires games, although 9 of them still don’t work. Turns
out they weren’t working in 0.111 either.

Lost in Translation Release

It’s been a long time in coming but MiSFiTMAME has been upgraded to the new core 0.111. I’ve been on sabbatical for some time now for personal reasons so there is a list of others to thank for this release.

etabeta- for adding a ton for drivers and trying to get everything organized for easier upgrades (note there are still NEOGEO isues to be worked out to get them working)

Mr Do- for adding WIP drivers,  keeping interest in the project going in my absence and for the current source and binary release.

James Wallace (El Condor)- for under taking the core upgrade and simplifying the upgrade proccess.

Without these people this release would not have been possible…

Boring Bits

mspachi: Fixed the nvram handling and corrected the address map. High score screen now works correctly.

I wasn’t comlpetely happy with etabeta’s zolapacs. I’ve reinserted the rest of the original code. The games now more resemble how they played when they first were introduced in MAME055.
I’ve sent a copy over to Brian Galm to verify their playability.

Multi Games are still in limbo as well as davids home brew games.

MS PAC II will probably be removed. It’s not working, and is an ORCA bootleg, not a hack.

04/19/05 Update

Peter Storey (XzeriX) the original author of the multipac drivers has requested the old sources to try to get them updated to the new core.

Mr. Do managed to find 3 more additions (from his post):

Galaga (Fast Shoot): This was removed from official MAME. Re-added (and the version I have seems different than the previous MAME version).

Millipede (Dux Hack): Similar to Centipede Dux

Bubble Buster: A USA region hack to pbobble. Language changed to English, Bub and Bob are removed from the game =(

Etabeta has returned to Italy and is getting settled back in before finalizing the Zolapacs.

I’ve got Xevious2005 and Naked Donkey Kong added as well. (Still sifting through old emails for some other hacks).

Multi-Game Progress

Been spending the last few days trying to update the muti-games from the pacman driver to the new core. Starting with the 96 in 1 game first. It’s getting closer, game boots menu and controls work. The tuff one is getting it to properly load the assortment of games, right now only Piranha plays (regaurdless of what game it selected). Stay tuned……
Oh, I did forget to mention that Fourplay the Galaxian Multi Game has been moved to the new core (still not working 100% same as in MiSFiT062).

Just a little WIP
